Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
Lando Norris has outscored his teammate at each of the last five race weekends.
The McLaren driver narrowly beat team-mate and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the closing stages of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who took the championship lead from his teammate by just one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, beat the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before sprint qualifying due at the evening session.
Max Verstappen, the sole remaining contender in the championship fight, lying 36 points Norris, finished in P17 as his team opted for a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate Yuki Tsunoda was the only driver to go off, though minor, when he lost control at corner four during the early running.
Tsunoda lost control over the curbs on exit before rotating through the run-off area, and was blessed to get away with just a minor contact of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also had a spin, at the conclusion of the practice, spinning around through the high-speed Mergulho turn approaching the final corner on to the main straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in 19th, just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were far ahead of the other competitors, with the German's car P3, 0.619 seconds off Piastri's pace.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Gabriel Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
