Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the region, bringing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered power outages after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled 598 requests for assistance across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
